1, 2, 3 ... let's go b! On this uniquely dated New Year's Eve of 12/31/23, Taylor Swift is ushering in 2024 at the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Cincinnati Bengals game.
In her ninth NFL appearance, the "Delicate" singer showed up to Arrowhead Stadium wearing a duplicate of the white wool and leather jacket with black sleeves that boyfriend Travis Kelce wore to GEHA Field on Christmas Day.
Kelce's jacket, designed by Jeff Hamilton, has NFL and helmet patches sewn on the sleeves with "Chiefs" in red letters across the back. Last week, the tight end instagrammed a video of himself wearing a Santa hat, white turtleneck and the jacket. Swift's version replaced the black collar, cuffs and waistband with black-and-white striped versions.
"You can tell the differences in the collar, cuffs and hem," says Sarah Chapelle, the creator of Taylor Swift Style, comparing the two varsity-style coats. "They are definitely similar. It's a nod toward Travis."
The pop star arrived without her family about an hour before kickoff.
The last game that Swift attended was the Christmas Day match against the Las Vegas Raiders. Swift's brother Austin dressed as a Kansas City Santa with a large red gift sack of presents, and her mom and dad, Scott and Andrea, walked behind her to the box overlooking the field.
Kelce confirmed on his podcast, "New Heights," that Austin had given him a gift-wrapped VHS of the tight end's favorite football movie, "Little Giants."
For the Swifties that are new to football, but watching the game to cheer on Swift's boyfriend's team, here are some talking points ahead of the Bengals and Chiefs match-up:
What football newbies should know ahead of Travis Kelce's Chiefs vs. Bengals game
The Bengals have an 8-7 record while the Chiefs are 9-6. In the eight prior games that Swift has attended, the Chiefs are 5-3 (full breakdown below).
When the Chiefs lost to the Raiders on Christmas Day, critics tried to say the mega-star has become a distraction. But head coach Andy Reid had his own take: “On offense, we struggled. That's my responsibility to make sure we put the guys in the right position to make plays, and that didn't happen the way we wanted it to. I take full responsibility for the way we played offensively there."
Jake Browning is the Bengals quarterback. He took over for Joe Burrow, who had a season-ending wrist injury after suffering the injury Nov. 16 against the Ravens.

The Chiefs played the Raiders a month ago in Allegiant Stadium and won 31-17. (Taylor was not there.)
The eight games Swift has attended before this Chiefs vs. Bengals game:
- Sept. 24: Chiefs beat the Bears 41-10
- Oct. 1: Chiefs beat the Jets 23-20
- Oct. 12: Chiefs beat the Broncos 19-8
- Oct. 22: Chiefs beat the Chargers 31-17
- Dec. 3: Packers beat the Chiefs 27-19
- Dec. 10: Bills beat the Chiefs 20-17
- Dec. 18: Chiefs beat the Patriots 27-17
- Dec. 25: Raiders beat the Chiefs 20-14
12/31/23 may be an auspicious day for Swift. At her last tour spot in São Paulo, Brazil, both of her surprise songs referenced "1, 2, 3": "ME!" on guitar and "So It Goes..." on piano.
The Chiefs are still in the running for Super Bowl LVIII. Next Sunday, Jan. 7, is the Chiefs' last regular-season game. The red-and-gold will play the Chargers in Los Angeles.
